The Westgate Hotel - San Diego

The food was excellant. The staff, waiters, bartenders, and valet parking attendents, were very friendly, helpful, and professional. Sean at the front desk was very helpful with our boarding passes on the computer. We visited...  

We enjoyed the Old World charm and the history of the Hotel. Access to shopping. Restaurants in the Gas Lamp District. Friendliness of the staff. Your 7-7-7 Happy Hour.

My only suggestion would be to have Staff people give short tours of the Lobby... explain the history, famous guests, history of the Grand Piano, the artwork, chandeliers, etc.

All the stafff were pleasant and helpful.

Our room was nice, but the location of the hotel was very noisy. Our room over looked the trolley car stop and we could hear it every tim it stopped to drop off and pick up passengers. We could hear all noises, from people talking, to sirens, to garbage trucks etc. All noises were applified between the buildings that surround the hotel. The staff were all nice and helpful and our room service meals were good. However, we will probably not stay there again. Also there was construction going on around the area and many homeless/vagrant type folks all over the Gaslamp area. The area seemed dirty and a bit desserted. We did enjoy our visit to USS Midway and Seaport Village.

The staff was accommodating and were very good too. The cozy atmosphere and gorgeous decor surpassed my expectations from previous trips to san diego.

Room had complimentary bottled water in fridge but one of bottles was half drank.. just a small oversight by cleaning staff probably.. Rest of room and hotel was very very clean.

The breakfast is amazing, one of the best things.

The Westgate's décor is enchanting, reminiscent of a timeless palace with its ornate chandeliers and warm, inviting lobby. I particularly adored the spacious layout.

Trolley noise could be disruptive for light sleepers.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful! Not to mention the hotel is right in the heart of down town to experience everything around! Very walkable distance!! Fantastic!

I thought with the deal could of provided some complimentary breakfast!

I loved every thing about this hotel. The service was amazing and the location as well. I would go back to the same hotel whenever I am in san.

Despite its elegance, the hotel suffers from outdated amenities-the in-room safe requires a debit card, and there are not enough easily accessible power outlets. No complimentary coffee in the mornings feels like a letdown for a hotel of this stature. The surrounding area has seen better days, with the nearby plaza closed and an unsettling presence of homeless individuals nearby, which can be quite disconcerting, especially for those unfamiliar with the locale.

Location: the hotel was close to shops and restaurants, San Diego for a business trip, and restaurants in the Gaslamp district. I had coffee at Corner Bakery Cafe, located within 5 minutes walk. Rooms with great...  

Did not honor the rate you advertised..Charged $30 per night more.
